Officer Roles and Responsibilities
President
- Meets with the Board in January to establish goals for the year as well as set the calendar of events and activities for the community.
- Conducts meetings with Board members at least quarterly to address progress on goals and actions.
- Listens to issues presented by neighbors and establishes approaches to addressing, including delegating follow up to other Board members.
- Sets the agenda for the annual meeting in November and ensures that candidates are available to fill open positions.
- Addresses issues that may involve our surrounding neighborhood areas (Cokesbury church, Franklin Hill Shopping Center, Neighbors on Triplett, Neighbors North of us, and Surgery Center land interface).
- Delegates actions to other Board members as needed.
First Vice President
- Ensures open communication between FHHA committees and the Board, including bringing issues to the attention of the Board, planning events, composition and leadership of committees.
- Fills in for the President as needed in addressing issues for the Board.
- Provides primary social contact and coherence in the neighborhood through planned events. Suggests activities that may improve neighborhood rapport.
Second Vice President
- Ensures that all maintenance issues in and around the neighborhood are addressed, including landscaping, streets, property maintenance for sidewalks, etc.
- Provides and maintains key communication with the County and surrounding neighborhood areas.
- Fills in for the President as needed.
- Provides primary contact for maintaining a pleasant and well-maintained neighborhood.
Treasurer
- Maintains a balanced budget and informs Board of potential financial issues.
- Is familiar with all ongoing financial commitments of the neighborhood.
- Investigates ways the neighborhood can save money, through contracts (like Waste Connections) or other means.
- Leads the pursuit of a dues increase in 2018.
Secretary/Administrator
- Maintains all the records for the Board and the neighborhood.
- Takes minutes at all Board meetings and provides timely distribution of minutes following meetings. Highlights action items and follows up with Board on status.
- Produces a quarterly newsletter.
- Establishes a neighborhood web site in 2018.
- Establishes awareness with surrounding neighborhoods of issues that might affect safety, etc. (Potential strange vehicles, mosquito spraying, etc,)
- Works closely with the President and other Board officers to ensure that their information is communicated to the neighborhood in a timely manner.
